Dr. Aniwaa Owusu Obeng serves as Senior Director of the Mount Sinai Pharmacogenomics Program and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. With more than a decade of leadership in pharmacogenomics, she has advanced the clinical adoption of precision medicine through innovative implementation strategies, provider and patient education, and system-level best practices. She is Co-Founder and Fractional Chief Medical Officer of Datum Clinical, an AI-powered precision prescribing platform bringing pharmacogenomic decision support to the point of care. She has authored over 40 publications and contributes to global guidelines as a member of the Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC). She is the Program Director for the American College of Clinical Pharmacy's (ACCP) Applied Pharmacogenomics Certificate Program and serves as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee for the Pharmacogenomics Global Research Network (PGRN). In 2026, the Millennium Excellence Foundation conferred the Medical (Global Healthcare) Excellence Award on her, under the patronage of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene of Kumasi. Her work is widely recognized for shaping the future of precision medicine and health equity.
